little_hoobjoo's Full Review: Apple iPod shuffle 2nd Generation (1 GB) MP3 Playe...
I think it is time that I voice my opinion about the Apple Ipod Shuffle 2nd generation. Because of the fact that I have never met a person that was satisfied with one of these little atrocities, I think they should be taken off of the market. Apple should have just started with the Apple Ipod Nano.
THE PROBLEMS I must say the Ipod Shuffle 2nd Generation is pretty cheap for an electronic device that holds music, but that's because that's all it does. Stores sell it for less than one hundred dollars. It only has 1 gigabyte of memory. The biggest let down of all is the fact that it has no screen. There is no possibility of downloading any pictures or video on it, and the battery and charger are dysfunctional. MY EXPERIENCE I bought one. I hated it. I got rid of it. Every time I would place the tiny music player on the little charging port and plug the charger into the wall, I would catch myself saying, "Well, I hope it works this time". There was no way of knowing whether it was charging or not. I could never tell if I had it plugged in all the way, so there were many times I thought it was charging all night long just to discover in the morning that it had not been charged at all. Eventually, the battery even went bad and it was junk. OTHER PEOPLES' EXPERIENCES My niece came to my house a couple of days ago and brought her Shuffle with her. When bed time came near she plugged it in and looked at me and said, "I have had so many problems with this thing, I hope it works this time". I could only chuckle and say, "Me too". Needless to say she woke up to a dead Ipod the next morning. My brother even owned a Shuffle at one time. He ended up throwing it at the wall and breaking it all apart. Yes, he needs anger management, but I understood the tense feeling that would take him to that level. MY SOLUTION I now have an Apple Ipod Nano 3rd generation and my favorite attribute about it is the fact that I can show all of my pictures of my son to anyone who asks questions about him. I have a two inch screen that displays the name of the artist, album and song I'm listening to. I don't have to guess or go through every song to find the one I want. I can download music videos to the songs I enjoy or even full movies I want to watch. My memory space is eight gigabytes, so I haven't even come close to filling it up. It's still light and portable like the Shuffle, I take it everywhere with me. It costs about one hundred dollars more than the shuffle but it's worth every penny.
I'M SATISFIED NOW Don't get me wrong, I understand that there are even better, more capable versions of the Ipod out there today than even my Nano, but for the price I really am glad that I purchased the one that I have.
