If you like Jackie Chan, you'll like this book. If not, I'm not sure why in the world you would have ever bothered to pick it up in the first place. That being said, if you're not a fan and happen to pick it up, I think you'll find some very interesting elements in Jackie Chan's unique "rag to riches" story.
The book is written in a very "Just the facts, m'am" style. The narrative is simple and too the point. You never get a great feel for who Jackie Chan the person is like, but you get a very good account of how he got to where he is. His rags to riches story begins in the China Drama Academy where he is left under the extremely demanding tutelage of Master Yu Jim-Yuen. The stories of his training and schooling make the training scenes in his earlier movies look tame by comparison.
As a fan of Jackie Chan movies in general I was impressed by the list of favorite stunts and fight scenes. Sad, but true I recognized almost all of them...
