Cathy and Chris are living as husband and wife and are raising Cathy's two boy's.Jory, who is fourteen years old and Bart, who is nine years old.
They live twenty miles north of San Francisco in a town called Fairfax.
Jory has taken after his Mother and his deceased Father in dance. He's a good boy and is good in everything he does.
Bart is a clumsy little boy and likes to pretend. He lives in his own little world.
Cathy and Chris adopt a baby Girl who's Mother has died. Her name is Cindy.
Chris is a Doctor at a local Hospital and Cathy has a dance school she teaches.
The boys have grown up thinking Chris is the brother to their Mother's second Husband,Paul, who died from a bad heart. The boy's think Chris is their Mother's third husband.
There is a huge house next door the boy's are fascinated with. They go over there to play or sit on the wall that divides their two properties.
One day things change. Someone moves into that huge house.
Bart starts to go over to the house next door to visit the lady in black. She gives him anything he wants, except the pony he has always wanted. She gives him a dog instead. A St. Bernard,he names Apple.
The Butler,John, starts filling his head with all kinds of stories. Telling him stories about his parent's and about his Great-Grandfather,Malcolm and that his parents are living in Sin.
Bart has always felt unloved by his parents. With all the stories the butler is telling him, makes him turn against his parents and he causes a lot of problems. He becomes a very troubled little boy.
The lady next door is Cathy and Chris's Mother. She has moved in next door to be close to her children and to get to know Bart, who is her second husband's child and her grandchild.
Chris finds out who she is and keeps it from Cathy.
Cathy falls and is told she can never dance again. She takes up writing and starts a book on her's and Chris's child hood.
The boy's find out who Chris really is and that their parent's are Brother and Sister.
Bart tells his Mother to go next door. All her questions would be answered. She goes next door and finds out who the lady in black is and confronts her.
That's where I end my opinion. This is a very good book. This story started with the book,"Flower's In The Attic",followed by,"Petals On The Wind". This is the third in the series. There are two more books that follow this one. They are;"Seeds Of Yesterday" and "Garden Of Shadows".
The last one is based on the lives of the Great-Grandparent's,Malcolm and Olivia Foxworth. The being of this nightmare of stories.
Once you start reading these books you won't be able to stop until you read them all. I have the last two books and can't wait to get started on the next book.
