Pros: I enjoy the contrast between the two boys' views, especially the peek into Bart's warped mind.
Cons: As with all books in the series, lots of incest, which could offend you.

| punkinpie's Full Review: V. C. Andrews - If There Be Thorns |
This book is by far the best in the series. It continues the Dollanganger story with Chris and Cathy, the brother and sister, marrying and it is told through the eyes of Cathy's two little boys, Bart and Jory.
All his life, Bart has been jealous of his considerably older brother. After all, Jory has the perfect life: he has a real grandma, he's handsome, tall, and graceful, and supposedly Mom's "favorite"... everything Bart wants to be. So when the old lady moves in next door and presents him with the prospect of having his own grandma, someone that would love him more than they love Jory, he is thrilled. But there is a dark side to his happiness. Find out what it is when you read "If There Be Thorns". I guarantee you will love it! Also read "Seeds Of Yesterday", which is the continuing novel on Jory and Bart's story.
