The Bottom Line: This is V.C. Andrews' best novel! READ IT, READ IT, READ IT! You won't be sorry!

| jennypell's Full Review: V. C. Andrews - If There Be Thorns |
Once again, V.C. Andrews mastered another book! Not only is the title very cool, but the book is so suspenseful you about pee yourself as you near the end!
The story is told by all of the characters so you get inside everyone's head. An excellent writing technique and it goes with the whole psychological theme of the book.
A brief overview: Cathy's youngest son, fathered by her mother's second husband, is a quirky little kid. He is in the constant shadow of his talented brother, Jory, and doesn't fit in with anybody. That is, until a very nice old lady moves in next door and, along with her butler, befriends him.
Bart spends so much time over at the old lady's house that it starts worrying Cathy and Chris. Then Bart is given his great grandfather's old journals by the butler, John, and Malcolm becomes his hero. He wants to be just like him, God help us.
The novel is fast-paced at times. You won't want to put it down and when you do, it won't be long before the story pulls you back in. This is even better than PETALS ON THE WIND and much, much better than the last novel in the series, SEEDS OF YESTERDAY.
