Pros: nice size, wheels, five day ice retention
Cons: initial cost, but worth it in the long run
I originally purchased the Igloo Ice Cube Maxcold 70 Qt. Cooler with wheels for when we go to sporting events and picnicking. However this has become a must have when we go camping as well.
The Igloo Maxcold 70 Qt. cooler is a nice size at (23.5h x 20.25w x 18.62d) and has a telescope handle that is 18 in. long when fully extended. My favorite feature though is the wheels. They are durable and make it easy to get from A to B with no troubles. This is made of durable hard plastic and very well insulated. This retails anywhere from $39.99 to $49.99 depending on where you are shopping.

I have used this cooler for day trips as well as week long camping trips. I am always amazed at how well this holds its temperature and keeps whatever I put in it cold. For a day trip I generally use one block of ice and a half dozen frozen water bottles. Even after being out in the 95 degree sun all day the block is only half way melted and the frozen water is only thawed not completely water. On our camping trips I use this strictly for meats. Three ice blocks keep the meat cold for a good three days before I have to buy more ice. That is with there being one block almost completely left intact on the third day. I do not like chancing it since it is meat otherwise if drinks I would not worry.
This is extremely easy to transport anywhere since the wheels can handle all kinds of terrain. The extra thick plastic and insulation in the lid and body of the cooler really helps maintain a cool interior longer than most coolers. This is the cooler that goes with us to all games, cookouts, family gatherings, and Summer events.
It costs a bit more than other coolers of similar size, but for the convenience and durability it was well worth the cost. We have had this two years now and the only thing on it that shows any form of use is the wheels. Clean up is a breeze as well with soap and water and a little wipe down with bleach. I air out before storing for next use.
