chad8246's Full Review: Ikeeps Icase Google Eyes Red, 1 Each
I guess I need to admit that I am a sucker for novelty cases. When I was younger and had a retainer, I opted for a turtle shaped case to hold it rather than the standard and boring type cases that were so prevalent at my middle school. What can I say, I was a rebel. And, for years I had Homer and Marge Simpson salt and pepper shakers. It's only been recently that I decided to grow up and purchase a more mature and luxurious set of shakers. It's weird though, the salt and pepper taste just the same. Hmmm...
However, I've always gone with the traditional contact lens case as well. Oh sure, I may have branched out and bought some colored ones, but nothing too crazy. But, when I accidentally stumbled upon the Ikeeps Icase Google Eyes case while trying to find some "goofy" pictures on the internet, it hit a soft spot for me so I decided to order a few as I needed a new case.
The Ikeeps Icase Google Eyes case is a relatively standard contact lens case. It has two screw-on storage compartments that hold your left and right contacts respectively. There are some cases on the market that have "snap on" caps and you'll want to stay away from those. The "screw caps" ensure that your contacts don't fall out or get damaged during transportation or accidental droppage. The caps with this case are easy to screw off, even if your hands are wet in preparation of handling your contact lenses. The containers themselves have ridges inside that help you to remove your lenses without much difficulty.
You're able to use the Ikeeps Icase Google Eyes case whenever you want to store your contacts with saline solution or during chemical disinfection. However, you aren't able to use this case for heat disinfection. But, to be honest, I'm not even sure if that's a viable cleaning process any longer. I've been using disposable contacts for so long that I'm not even sure of any of the processes used to clean contacts. Just keep that caveat in mind if you want this contact case.
The only negative feature that I can really point out about the Ikeeps Icase Google Eyes case is the price. It's $4.99 for the case, along with any shipping charges that you might incur, which is rather expensive. Surprisingly, there are actually cases that cost even more. They are quite advanced and if the technology continues to progress, I'm quite sure soon that the cases will actually be able to put in your contacts for you. But, alas, that technology is still in the developmental stages. But, with regular contact cases priced around the much lower $1.00 range, this style of case is a little pricey. In fact, it's been my experience that cases are usually even shipped free when you order online.
I can recommend the Ikeeps Icase Google Eyes case to virtually everyone. Well, to those that wear contacts. It is exactly what you think it would be. It's a sturdy and tough contacts case that does exactly what it's supposed to do...hold your contact lenses. Sure, it happens to do it a kooky way with the google eyes on each cap. If the eyes scare you, then there is no reason to purchase this case. However, if your contact lens case is in need of some personality, you might want to think about picking up one or several as it's always a good idea to replace your contact lens cases quite regularly. I opted for the red case, but it is also available in blue, black or white if those colors are more to your liking.
