Pros: Imodium doesn’t mess around. Fast-acting relief. Anti-gas is a big plus. Tasty vanilla pill flavor.
Cons: Minor side-effects.

Diarrhea. Something that is rarely found in a serious conversation and still a word I can’t spell without using a spell checker. Whether it’s one too many glasses of apple cider or a case of the stomach flu, we’ve all had to deal with that lovely feeling of… well… I won’t go there. Fortunately, we have Imodium A-D to rely on to come to our rescue.
About a week ago I had the infamous stomach flu. You know, it’s that lovely virus that penetrates your insides and makes your body decide to reject any and all food and liquids. After that horrible night spent in the bathroom, the next couple days I found myself waking up with random cases of diarrhea. Anything I’d eat or drink would immediately be disposed of.
Come the third day of morning diarrhea, I decided to break down and take something for my problem. To my luck, my grandmother had the good stuff – Imodium Advanced A-D Anti-Gas. I pop one, swish it in my mouth a bit to taste the vanilla flavoring on the pill and swallow.
Shortly after taking the pill I experienced some cramping, along with a bit of dizziness. To my luck I achieved the side effects while driving which was really trippy. After getting home and reading the box, they mention to take special care operating machinery or driving after taking a dose. Guess I learned that the hard way but at least the rest of the day I experienced no diarrhea at all.
The next day I still experienced diarrhea, but shortly after took another Imodium. The second time I experienced no side effects, cramping, or any of the discomfort I had had for the last several days. After those two days with only two pills, I stop experiencing the morning diarrhea. A day or so passed with no bowel movement at all and then finally I became regular again.
Simply put, Imodium didn’t mess around with curing my diarrhea, and I can guarantee it won’t dilly-dally around with yours either. The anti-gas also helps as a plus for relieving all that built-up pressure from your body trying to become regular again.
As for the contents, inside each little white pill contains 2mg of Loperamide HCl for plugging you up and 125mg Simethicone for hushing you up and relieving gas-related cramps. I won’t waste your time listing the inactive ingredients, but there is sucrose which means the vanilla flavor is real!
Hands down, if you’ve got diarrhea, don’t just try to wait it out like I did. Let Imodium do the work. And for those wondering, the only difference between Imodium A-D and Imodium Advanced A-D Anti-Gas is the 125mg Simethicone. The advanced version doesn’t contain any more or less of the anti-diarrhea Loperamide HCl.
