When my daughter received her first shots the nurse recommended that I give her Tylenol Infant's Drops to help with the discomfort at the injection site.
The drops were easy to administer using the combination dropper/lid and seemed to help her with the pain I'm sure the shot must have caused. I also have used this product for teething pain and flu-related fever with very quick and effective results. The medication's effectiveness is an average of 3 to 4 hours before another dose is needed. Because the flavor is pleasing, she does not spit up the medicine as soon as it gets in her mouth. The only side effects from the medication my daughter has had is slight drowsiness.
On the downside, the drops are a very bright color and if they get on the baby's clothing it can stain. Also the dosage chart is only for babies over 24 months, so for younger babies you must consult the doctor for proper dosage amount.
Parents, as always, should first read the product information for possible interactions or side effects and consult their doctor before using.
