| Kelamandasmom's Full Review: Infants' Tylenol Concentrated Drops |
Infants Tylenol Concentrated Drops have to be the most widely used infant over the counter medicine. When you bring your baby to the doctor's office, what does he tell you? Baby has a fever, use Tylenol. Baby is teething, use tylenol. A reaction to the recent vaccinations, you guessed it.....Tylenol!
I mean, you can't blame your doctor. Heck, chances are, your doctor's mother used tylenol on him/her when he/she was a baby. Tylenol doesn't contain aspirin, alcohol, or anything that can basically harm your baby. The following is directly taken from the Tylenol website.....
Since it was introduced in the United States in 1955, this aspirin-free pain reliever/fever reducer has been used effectively in hundreds of millions of children to relieve:
Fever
Aches and pains of colds and flu
Headache
Sore throat
Pain or fever from immunizations
Toothache
So, your doctor recommends it, millions of children have used it. Chances are, your own mother used it for you when you were a baby. So, it should be a no brainer, right? Wrong! What if Infants Tylenol Concentrated Drops just doesn't work? Could it be possible? This is the "miracle" drug for babies all over the world. Yes, it is possible, and it happened to us.
My daughter, as some of you may already know, was born with a rare birth defect. She had surgery at the ripe old age of 2 days old, a very painful surgery. For a year following my daughter's surgery, she needed therapy to stenghen her newly made muscles. At the age of 3 months, my daughter began to show discomfort. Her little muscles ached! So, we called the doctor. Take tylenol, he tells us. A no brainer, right?
Guess what? Tylenol did not work for us! Maybe it is because my daughter's case is the exception. Perhaps tylenol just wasn't strong enough for her. Nobody can really tell the reason why, but the trusty Tylenol name didn't necessarily let us down, it just didn't work for us.
We tried Tylenol over and over again. For my daughter's teething pain, nothing worked at all. For a fever, Infants Motrin was the only medication to do the job. But when it came to her immunization shots, it worked well, I'm guessing. It is so hard to tell with a baby! It is odd though, it worked for that sort of pain, but not her muscle pain associated with her therapy.
So would I recommend Infants Tylenol Concentrated Drops? Yes, of course I would. It comes in an assortment of great flavors. It is easy to administer. It is a good, all around product, just not for us.
