I LOVE this hook-on chair for several reasons.
#1 My baby (who is 14 months old), a veritable Houdini, has not yet figured out how to climb out of this chair. He can escape a standard restaurant-grade high-chair in mere seconds, but this thing keeps him right inside. We think it is because there is nothing underneath him to stand upon... whatever it is, it works for me. This alone would justify the $50 cost, since it means we can go to restaurants. Yippee!
#2 I have not yet found a table that the chair will not attach to-- even tables with lips and rims of many sizes work. The screw-on hooks accommodate a surprising variety of table widths.
#3 The chair seems very well made. The fabric is extremely thick (I think it is quilted), and washes clean with a sponge. You could get the thing quite wet and I think it would dry quickly.
If I had it to do over again, I might not even buy a high-chair.
The only negative thing I can say about the chair is that it doesn't fit into the little webbed basket under his stroller for outings. The chair, when folded flat, is really quite small and portable (weighs practically nothing) but it isn't petite enough to fit under the Maclaren. So we have to tuck it under an arm when we stroll to a restaurant.
