Pros: good picture and sound, 32", 1080p, nice size, warranty, price
Cons: none for us
My older son wanted a new TV for his bedroom. So for his 20th birthday we purchased him the Insignia™ - 32" Class / 1080p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV Model: NS-32L450A11 TV. We shopped around quite a bit before purchasing the Insignia TV. My son wanted a new TV to watch and to play video games on. He had a 20” TV and wanted something a bit bigger. I thought a 32” would be too big but it actually is a nice size for his bedroom.
Insignia is the house brand of Best Buy. I had never heard of them but with doing some research decided this brand would be a good purchase for a bedroom TV for my son. There weren’t too many things that my son required on his new TV other then he wanted to be able to plug his Xbox 360 into it to play games, that it was a flat screen and that it had a sleep timer.
In the Insignia NS-32L450A11 box came the TV, a tabletop stand and screws, a remote with batteries and holder, audio cable, component cable, cleaning cloth and quick start guide.
The Insignia NS-32L450A11 has three HDMI inputs on the side, a pc input on the side, a component video input in the rear, headphone jack, two audio outputs, sleep timer, a USB port, a v-chip, one s-video input in the rear, one composite input in the rear, and 2 speakers with 20W output. The sound system is a SRS TruSurround HD sound system. The TV measures 22 1/8” high, 31 1/8” wide and 3 5/8” deep and weighs 21.8 pounds. It has a vertical resolution of 1080p and a screen refresh rate of 60Hz. The maximum resolution is 1920 x 1080. The TV has a black glossy plastic trim around the TV which is easy to wipe clean. The Insignia NS-32L450A11 also comes with a two year warranty.
The Insignia NS-32L450A11 was easy to set up. You can use the table stand or mount the TV on the wall but we chose to use the TV stand that was included. My son was able to set it up himself and hook his Xbox and cable into it without any issues. The guide that came with the TV was very useful in helping to set up the TV.
Once the TV is set up it is easy to use. We use the remote to control the TV. My boys had no problems learning to use the universal remote.
I think the picture quality on the Insignia NS-32L450A11 is good as is the sound quality. The TV has a 178 degree horizontal and vertical viewing angle which allows us to sit almost anywhere in the room and enjoy the TV.
We purchased the Insignia NS-32L450A11 on sale at Best Buy for $299.99. The regular price was $449.99. I thought this was a great deal for a 32” flat screen TV. Being Insignia is a Best Buy product you can only purchase it online or is a Best Buy store.
I love that the Insignia NS-32L450A11 comes with a two year warranty. We have had the TV for three months now and hope not to have to use the warranty but Insignia offers a better warranty then a lot of the major brands which impressed me.
My son likes his Insignia NS-32L450A11 as it is a full function TV that he can play video games on or watch TV. He likes that it has a sleep timer because he likes going to bed with the TV on. With the sleep timer, I don’t have to go in and turn his TV off in the morning.
I’m not sure I would want the Insignia NS-32L450A11 as my living room TV only because it would not be big enough but I think it is a great bedroom TV.
I think we made a good choice when we purchased the Insignia™ - 32" Class / 1080p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV Model: NS-32L450A11 TV. We would recommend this TV to others looking for a second TV for another room in their home.
