I bought this system because it was the cheapest at Best Buy ($94) and I had been happy with my previous Insignia purchases (a CRT TV and a DVD/VHS player). However, I have been disappointed with this system.
After spending hours setting up the system (not easy or quick) and also finding out that the surround sound cables are too short for my (average size) room, my DVD player did not work properly. The screen would frequently go blank as it constantly detected my resolution (480p). I called Best Buy and they said to exchange it for another one, but I decided to just attach my old Insignia DVD player and use that instead.
Another flaw is that when you turn the system on, it automatically goes to DVD mode, even though the majority of the time I want to be in TV mode, and I have to slowly click through 4 options. I have also had some problems with CD playback.
Fortunately, the sound is pretty good, but I am still disappointed with my purchase, and I do not recommend this system.
