The Bottom Line: The price has gone down and this allows you feed video images from video/TV/digital camera. Just this feature should definitely encourage you to buy this.
I had the previous version of this, and was I ever happy about discovering the new function of this little gadget:

I especially like the web cam's bottom. It has a rubber bottom that grips the smooth surface.
Before I purchased this Intel Pro PC Video Camera, I did look at the others, especially the Creative's higher resolution web cam. Creative has the higher resolution but that only applies if you are taking pictures - NOT receiving video images from others on the internet.
Receiving the video images could only be 640x480 VGA resolution. Even if a web cam could bring resolution higher than 640x480, your video picture really depends on the hardware at the other end. If your friend's web cam captures at 640x480 VGA resolution, your web cam could only bring 640x480. Now I haven't experimented with this, but if your web cam has resolution higher than 640x480, the other end might have trouble receiving your image, as there is more video information being sent.
In addition to the hardware, you are provided with software that enhances your image/video manipulation. It also has game software. I had spent a few hours on playing with the included digital puzzles game. Great fun.
