justawolfe's Full Review: Intel Easy PC Camera Web Cam
As a beginner in the realm of webcams, I went to Office Depot looking for something simple. I didn't need the bells and whistles, simply because I wouldn't have known what to do with them. After making sure that the Easy PC Camera would work with my OS - Windows 98 - and had the ability to do things like take snapshots (standard for most if not all webcams, but it didn't hurt to check), I bought it and took it home with me. At a price of $42.95, I figured that I couldn't get a better deal.
The setup was simple (install the software, and THEN plug in the webcam), and I was able to take snapshots right from the start. The instructions are a little sketchy on how to save streaming video, and I am left uncertain as to whether such a thing is possible with this particular camera.
The one thing that actively annoys me is the simple fact that to take a snapshot, one must click on a button in the program, rather than pressing a physical button on the webcam itself. This makes the layout of some photos difficult to achieve, but for a person with little in terms of extra funds and not much technical knowledge, this webcam is close to perfect.
