Pros: It can do a great job on your teeth. Shorter time at cleaning appts.
Cons: If you get one that's short on power, it is frustrating to use.
The Bottom Line: Hold out for one with power. Return any that don't provide enough oomph to brush your teeth!

| rfarkle's Full Review: Interplak Family Electric Toothbrush 12153 |
Several years ago, I purchased two of these toothbrushes. One for myself, and one for the kids. Unbeknownst to me, the one the kids were using had very little power. I happened to get a "good" one. In less than a year, both units had stopped working and I returned them (at my expense) to the manufacturer for repair. It was obvious to me that they did not actually repair them, but sent me replacements, which was probably better for me. Due to a mailing mixup, I ended up getting four replacements, three of which I would deem had enough power to be effective.
When I say they had enough power, I mean that the brush functions at full speed both inside and outside my mouth. Any toothbrush will run at full speed when held under the faucet to rinse it off. The test for me is whether it will run at full speed when I'm brushing. Unfortunately, in many cases, the power heads are not powerful enough to accomplish this.
I use gel, non-tartar control, non-whitening toothpaste, with no baking soda, as recommended by the manufacturer. I use a very small amount...less than pea size. Just finding the appropriate toothpaste is a challenge, in these days of whitening, tartar control, baking soda toothpastes. I rinse the brush thoroughly after using it and made sure it was charged the requisite 24 hours before I used it.
In short, I am happy with the brush I now have, but am cautious about recommending it because of the problems I encountered before getting a "good" one.
I recently purchased a model DPI1, the kind that plugs directly into an outlet for charging, and have written an opinion about that particular model elsewhere.
