| MumMumMum's Full Review: Intex Easy Set Pool Cover |
This year we purchased an Intex Easy Set Pool, and one of the items that came with it was the Intex Easy Set Pool Cover. This vinyl cover is blue in colour and slips over the top of the Easy Set Pool with a ten-inch overhang. There is a white nylon cord that runs through a sleeve on the edge of the cover and ties easily around the pool to tighten the cover. There is a small circle in the centre of the cover that has several small (approximately half inch) holes in it, as well as a circle of small holes around the outer edge of the pool cover approximately six inches in from the very edge of the pool.
At first I thought that those little holes were weird. Why would I want rain to be able to fall into my pool and dilute the chlorine and let other bugs or debris in. But really, the holes are quite small and the amount of rain or any small bugs that might get in are really unnoticeable in my opinion. Not only that, but the holes make removing the cover after a rain even easier than it already is. Those holes allow what could be a very heavy and unmanageable amount of water to flow through them and make lifting the cover off so much easier.
The rope ties are a nice idea, but they really arent terribly necessary. I have a hard time tightening them up enough so that the cover is taut on the pool, but its not a necessity at all. I live in a particularly windy area, with an even windier back yard area (acres and acres of green space behind my yard and no windbreaks to speak of) and Ive never yet seen that pool cover even attempt to make a break for it.
The cover succeeds well in its purpose, which is to keep debris out of my pool and to help keep the chlorine from evaporating. I havent had any problems with the durability of this cover. Putting it on and off the pool daily or more often its withstood the usage easily and Ive seen no signs of wear and tear. Its easy to use, its quite durable, and its well worth the few dollars spent if you dont already have one. It saves time on pool cleaning, and gets you swimming faster.
This cover is not a safety cover. Never leave children unattended in or near the water.
