| MumMumMum's Full Review: Intex Pool Ladder |
When we purchased our Intex Easy Set Pool it didnt come with a ladder. Although it is easy enough for most adults to get in and out of the pool without a ladder, I didnt particularly want to be lifting my seven-year-old in and out of the pool all summer. The only way she was going to be able to get in or out of the pool was with a ladder, unless we didnt mind having a flooded back yard. So off we went to the store to pick up the Intex Pool Ladder.
The Intex Pool Ladder is intended for use with 30 to 36 wall height pools. It does come with some pools but was not included with ours. It does not come assembled, but the instructions are easy to follow, for the most part. We had a few mix ups, but after we decided to lay it down and see how it should go and what angle to put the steps on we had it figured and put together pretty quickly. The metal tubing is secured with nuts and bolts, and that did concern my husband somewhat, the possibility that a child might somehow scratch themselves on them. He was also a little concerned about water splashing on them and them rusting. He wasnt sure what to do about the water situation, but he wrapped them with tape to ensure that there was no possibility of them being exposed to a childs legs. (Yes, it was white hockey tape
we are Canadian after all!)
So basically what you have is a white painted metal tubing ladder that arcs over the pool wall. Three strong blue plastic steps up one side and three steps down the other. The steps have a ridged surface that helps prevent any slipping, and weve not had anyone have an accident on the ladder at all. The ladder has curved rubberized feet, making it quite stable as long as you put it in a level spot, and I havent had any problems with it slipping or sliding when in use. There are two rectangular side pieces on each side at the top of the ladder, giving it added stability and also providing an area for the manufacturers to add their pool safety tips and warnings. The steps are quite secure in their predetermined spaces and will not move out of place.
The Intex Pool Ladder has made getting in and out of the pool easy for my children and their friends. There was a short period when they all had to be reminded to take their time and be slow and careful getting out of the pool. This is a ladder, even though it has two sides to it, and if you pull back on it you can pull it backwards on yourself. Or if pushed forward or rocked you may end up getting entangled in it and flying into the pool or onto the ground which could cause serious physical injury. Of course supervision is necessary. I also remove the ladder from the pool area when not in use and that keeps my kids and their friends from entering the pool without my knowledge. Im certain they wouldnt do that, but Ive always erred on the side of caution.
I highly recommend the Intex Pool Ladder. Its an inexpensive item that will make your days out in the pool more enjoyable.
And remember; never leave your children unattended by a pool.
