"I also got upset with their upgrade policy"

Seems like you "hinted" at that in your review :)

"Intuit is really sticking their hands deep into a user's pocket."

Thats what I meant when I included the following sentence in my review:

Quicken Basic seems to be as much a marketing tool for Intuit as it is a standalone product.

First let me tell you that your review is both detailed and informative. Since you are not using most online features, you probably did not run into the cost intensive features it provides.

I am mostly happy with Quicken 2003 Deluxe (see my review http://www.epinions.com/content_87999352452 ), but it must be said that Intuit is really sticking their hands deep into a user's pocket. Most obvious example is Quicken's BillPay w/ $29.-/month while some banks offer it free.

I also got upset with their upgrade policy (Zilch rebate for online purchase.) and the still relatively inflexible budget / graphing options.

Anyway, I am glad it works out for you. I am still sticking with it, but not sure if I will 'upgrade' for the full price again.

Started way back with Quiken 2.0 or something like that. It's just invaluable to me.

This was a great review. Loved it.

me!! But after reading your review, I think I'll give it a try. My computer came with the program, so I have nothing to lose, and perhaps I'll get organized in at least one area of my life!! Ha.
