Pros: Easy to use, nice bundled software, attractive.
Cons: Burns audio files at only 2x on Macos, loose USB cable, tiny bit pricey
The Bottom Line: Once again Mac users are left out of the technical loop and not told that the burner will only do 2x audio. Useful product but nothing great to brag about.

| brsc's Full Review: Iomega ZipCD CD-RW Burner |
I bought the Iomega 6X/4X/4X ReWritable USB External Zip Drive as a Christmas present for my wife. It was going to be a clean and easy way for her to compile tons of scanned images of old magazine ads and lots of swing music. For the most part, it's been a nice little gadget yet there's one drawback that has caused it not to be used more than it could be.
Aside from the cost, design and ease of use, the USB CD-RW has one major drawback that was 'overlooked' in the product packaging. Simply put, the burner will not burn audio files at 4x on the Macos.
After repeated attempts at trying to get the thing to burn a cd of songs, and it repeatedly freezing, I finally concluded that I must read the "Read Me" file on hand.
Nothing.
So I got online, found out the software was bought over by Roxio and then proceeded to hunt down the tech info I needed. There it was: Due to the low USB bandwidth the Macos uses, the Iomega CD-RW burner is unable to burn at 4x on audio files.
So, now I have to wait 15 minutes on a 30 minute CD burn; 20 on a 40, etc. Iomega could have printed some warning on the box for Mac users, but I guess that would be asking too much. My brother bought one, discovered the same flaw (but didn't find out reason why) and returned the drive within a week. . . too bad Iomega.
One other thing. It has a loose USB connection that has a lot of play. I haven't seen something that loose since the infamous Playstation AV cable.
Aside from that, me and my wife like the drive and find it useful and the software bundled with it very easy to use.
Somewhat worth the money but we could have waited for at least a $50 price drop.
