Plain and simple this is the best ZIP drive yet. It requires only one cable for power AND data - so it's pretty easy to setup.
The first two things I noticed about this drive; the disks are bigger, and more durable than CDs, and it can be read/written to - regardless of your operating system.
I've always been big on burning CDs - mainly because of their high-capicaty, and low cost. The new 750mb Zip disks are actually larger, and more durable than CDs, and you can write t them unlimited times - unlike CD-R. They are alot more expensive - at around $10/disk - they aren't the best for hard drive backups and the like.
The most improtant feature to me, however, is that Zip drives can be used with and operating sstem - Windows, Mac, Linux, whatever. I own computers with all of the above installed - and since it's very hard to network them to share files - I use Zip disks. I hope to see A Linux driver for this soon - I have been unable to find one. I use my old 100mb Zip with the Linux box.
I think this Zip is best suited for running in enviroments where you are dealing with large files changed often - like every day. CD-R would be highly impractical for those uses. I would NOT buy this if you need to distribute files to many people, or need to backup non-critical data. Use CD-R.
Overall, I think this is a great, yet expensive product, and if you fit into any of the categories above - get it. now.
