| av8tr's Full Review: FID Irock 520 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
Actually bought the 530 available at Radio Shack with 128mb of onboard memory. Incredibly small unit (one ounce !) this thing is little and packs a big punch. USB enabled, I put approximately 50MP3's in the unit. That is more than enough for me, I use it when I am riding my motorcycle. Volume could be a little louder, and then again, my hearing could be slightly degraded from 30 years of jet blast.
The software is a waste, I spent about 15 minutes wrestling with illegal operations, dumped it and went to Music Match. Download the plug in for the RioPort 500 and you will be happy, no problems.
Not much to say about controls, only a few on the unit. Turning the thing on is a matter of pushing in the little protrusion on the side.
Battery life seems to be great, goes at least ten hours or more with a Duracell. I am now using the rechargeable nimh units, and they work great also.
This IRock isn't cutting edge, but it's a lot of bang for the buck, and being able to add on another 128mb card for 50 more songs should keep everybody happy........
