| gonzo727's Full Review: Irock Wireless Music Adapter 300w |
For years I have been using a tape adapter so I can listen to my mp3's in my car. I have a Nomad II MG, and this combo is great! Years ago I purchased my first wireless adapter, from Radio Shack. It was this little black box with an antenna and a slide wheel to adjust the freq. It never worked, I would have to hold it in my hand for it to work with out static. So I went back to the tape adapter. But when I went in to Radio Shack to buy another the rep convinced me that I wanted the iRock and I'm glad he did. It is very very very good. Instead of a dial to choose the freqs it has 4 preset 88.1 88.3 88.5 88.7 . Instead of an antenna it uses the built in cord that connects to your CD/mp3/minidisk player. It takes 2 AAA batteries. The rep at Radio Shack advised against rechargeable batteries, because they will give no indication that they are running out of juice, and will just die randomly. There's a little red LED that tells you if it is on or off. Thats about my only problem with the iRock is that it is very easy to forget to turn off, and find myself getting back in the car finding it on. Batt life has been very impressive. I have been using it constantly for a week and found it still going. I find it works best(no static) when it is fully extended away from the music device i.e. keep the CD player and the iRock as far way as possible for best reception.
