This restaurant is my all time favorite!!! I no longer live in Seattle, and it is pure torture to be away from Ivars
My favorite dish is the clam chowder. The taste is like no other I have ever found. I have tried clam chowder at every possible restaurant and nothing even comes close to Ivars.
The fish-n-chips are also great. There is no fishy aftertaste to it at all. The salads are fresh and crispy and my husband says the fried prawns are to die for (but I hate shrimp so I wouldn't know).
I recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves seafood (especially clam chowder). Ivars is the best in the west!
When going to Ivars on the pier in Seattle I would totally recommend reservations. I never do it and usually wind up waiting for about 15 to 30 minutes. Or if you are not concerned about going into the restaurant and eating they have a stand outfront where you can order your food and go into a little picnic area to eat (it costs less to eat outside rather then going into the restaurant)
