Pros: JBL name, Wide range, Price
Cons: 8in Woofers
The Bottom Line: These are of course not the top of the line JBL but for those who expect clean, crisp solid performance at a reasonable cost, I strongly recommend the N38.

| klev1's Full Review: JBL N38II Main / Stereo Speaker |
My Cerwin-Vegas from the 1980's finally blew up while watching Lord of the Rings on DVD. I knew I needed a new pair of speakers fast! I did some checking and found great reviews across the board for the N38. I happened to spot them on sale for just $99 each. I was a bit concerned about what I consider small woofers at just 8 inches each. I made the plunge and must say I am more than satisfied. The bass response is very good despite the small woofers. A sub would of course only improve the bass but I am confident most people would find these speakers satisfactory in terms of low frequency response for most music types. As I listen to a wide variety of music, I have yet to notice any obvious weakness in the N38. The 175watt RMS on the N38s easily handles my 100 watt receiver. These are of course not the top of the line JBL but for those who expect clean, crisp solid performance at a reasonable cost, I strongly recommend the N38 as a safe bet.
