gregc767's Full Review: JBL ONSTAGE Docking Station for iPod (ONSTAGEB)
These speakers are designed to work with the Apple Ipod. I listened to them in the Apple store and decided that they were just what I needed for my Ipod Nano at work. The list price at the store was $169 and I decided to see if I could find a better deal on the good old WWW. Well I was in luck. They are listed on Ebay constantly under the harmanaudio store there. They had at least ten of these for auction there and I purchased mine "Factory Refurbished" for $73.27 including shipping. The only thing that the refurbished unit didn't have was the nice store front packaging. It comes with the same warranty as new. I have since seen these listed on a couple of websites for much less than the full retail price so keep your eyes open and you can catch a great deal there too. The speakers give out a very good sound. There is a definite lack of deep bass but none of the drivers in the unit are over 2" across and that is what I expected anyways. They give a great overall sound and the included remote works very well without a direct "eye" to the base. The remote works via RF, not the usual LED. The package contained all the different base adapters and you can use it with any Ipod. One of the nice elements is the fact that it charges the battery while still being used. I can take it to work and listen all day and then use it at the gym with some nice fresh batteries. Give it a listen, this small wonder might just meet your needs. I strongly recommend looking for it on ebay or online. It's well worth the price I paid.
The unit also has a cable for hooking up to any other sound source that uses the mini headphone type jack. I connected it to my laptop and it sounds great through that as well.
