Cons: Dangerous if you work in the store. Purchase everything!!!Great card to have!!!

As a store that I first started working in, my JC Penney card has been in possession for the past 7 years. I soon found out that it can be dangerous to have a card from the place that you work. So instead of getting rid of the card I got rid of the job and went elsewhere. I found that the card with the different methods of payments and the online notification of payments do make this one of the best charge cards that I can have.
I have established the ability to pay online and receive my bill online. I have always seemed to forget my bill when I went to the store to pay the bill and they have never had a problem taking the payment...even if I did not have the card with me. If you are not a person that is comfortable with payments or account access online then you still receive a paper bill via the postal service and you can mail your payment in to the credit office or take your payment into the store for payment and quick posting. If you wait till the last minute to make your payment you can make your payment in the store and call the number on the back of your card and they will make a notation on your account that the payment has been made and will make credit available if needed to make a immediate purchase.
This card has came in even more handy since the birth of our first child. We have since redecorated her bedroom, purchased all of our pictures (which were taken monthly her first year) and clothing for my wife and I.
The credit limit they provide is based as all of them on your credit. When I first received my J.C. Penney Card I received a $200.00 limit. I have seen initial limits as high as $1000.00 when I did an instant credit application. I have heard from conversations with people regarding their Penney's card that they had as high as a $5000.00 limit with many years of use. You are able to apply for the card online in-stores with manual application or instant application at any register. The card is particularly useful over other cards such as Visa/MC or Discover in the fact that you can make your purchases on the Penney's card and leave your credit balances open for emergencies to use in places that will take these credit cards. It also makes it easy to use as a seperate receipt if you must return/contest a purchase that was made.
The finance charges are not bad unless you do not pay it off. This is something that I have tried to make sure and do so that I do not get hit with the approx 20+% charge.
A positive is also if you do forget to pay the bill on time the late fee is much lower than most other charge cards.
I rate this a great card to get to obtain everything that you want. This store has it all and if the store doesn't have it the catalog does. The card makes this shopping easy.
