I am now a bonafide JK Jemma Kidd cosmetics fan which is painful since the brand is pricey. But most of what I have tried has been excellent and I just can't stop trying out new products.
I was finally at a Target store where I could physically see shades unlike at Target.com where the shades are subject to the monitor's settings. I was checking out the Air Kiss Shine Lip Glosses and my eyes were drawn to the shade Poser. This shade looks like a bright pink. I don't wear pink gloss. Especially ones that look almost day glow. But I ended up leaving the store with a tube (and a receipt of course).
JK Jemma Kidd Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss in Poser is great! It looks amazing on me.
Packaging
This lip gloss comes boxed a signature deep pink box with the logo on it. The tube is a simple plastic one with a see through bottom and a black top with the logo in pink on it. The applicator is a sponge tipped one. There is .085 ounce of product in the tube.
My Experience
Target has all their JK Jemma Kidd products practically locked up and they have testers to try. I wasn't even about to put lip gloss on my lips that who knows who else did so I tried some on the back of my hand. It's hard to get a feel for lip colors that way but I got a basic idea. I almost decided on the deeper, redder shade called Dress 2 Impress but my eye kept looking at Poser.
I spent the $16.00 and took a chance. I also bought a few other JK Jemma products and my checkbook wept.
When I got home, I tried the gloss on. WOW. Pink never looks good on me but this pink did. It looked like my own lip color only intensified and shiny. There is a slight amount of shimmer in the gloss but nothing garish at all. My lips looked amazing and, somehow, the pink shade seemed to brighten my whole face. As a plus, it made my teeth look whiter!
This gloss isn't sticky and has no scent or flavor. It is rather thin but very pigmented so I just need one pass on my lips for a full bodied deep, rosy pink set oif juicy lips. More than shiny, my lips look juicy. I was knocked out by the way they looked.
Naturally, we all know lip gloss can be evil since it wears off so fast. JK Jemma Kidd Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss in Poser is no exception. It stays on well enough but it fades when I eat. If I don't eat or drink, it lasts around an hour to an hour and a half, maybe two if I don't drink anything which is rare in a two hour span. But here's the coolest thing. When this gloss wears off, it leaves a matte stain of the shade on the lips. So even when the shine and glitz is gone, my lips are still deeper hued and stained. Very nicely done, Jemma!
The stain sticks around for another couple of hours if I don't reapply any lip products. So, really, this gloss is a two in one product. They don't even mention the staining effect on the box or anywhere else but it IS there. I have worn Poser several times and I always had deeper hued, berry pink lips after the gloss wore off.
When the gloss is on my lips, it doesn't feel heavy, greasy, or waxy. It has a nice weight to it, not thick yet not so thin that it wears off in seconds. This is definitely a full bodied gloss and isn't sheer. It has plenty of pigment and almost looks like a shiny lipstick.
I love this gloss in Poser and am going to pick up Dress 2 Impress now that I know how cool the gloss is. The other shades all look quite light to me and I don't like light shades.
There are eight shades of JK Jemma Kidd Air kiss Lip Gloss from very light nude to the reddish shade I am going to buy next. There is no plum shade which wounds me. Most are pink and neutral nude shades.
Buying Info
JK Jemma Kidd Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss in Poser - and all the shades - can be purchased at Target stores and Target.com. This line is a British one which is hard to come by in the US. I did see some products on a US skin care and beauty products website but they were different than what Target is selling. I don't know if Target gets the exclusive rights to sell certain products or what but it's the only place that sells the products I have purchased on or offline. This gloss is $16.00.
Conclusion
I have so so so many lip glosses that one would think nothing would impress me anymore. But JK Jemma Kidd Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss Poser in did. It's a beautiful shade that I think would work on anyone. It's not at all bubble gum pink. It's more deep, natural pink just like my own lip color only more intense. The shine, slight shimmer, and shade all combine to make this a wow lip gloss. The fact that it leaves behind a nice stain on my lips is a plus. I rarely do this but I'm giving this shade 5 stars. I have no idea if the next one will be as good but Poser is definitely NOT a poser of a lip gloss.
