Lots of Power

JL power. Great amp. I have this powering a 12W6V2 in a sealed custom enclosure. This amp does what an amp should. Reproduces the signal it receives & stays out of the way. Went from a 250/1 to this. I gotta say though I felt that the 250/1 was probably giving out around 300 watts rms but my ears feel that the 500/1 is giving out right at 500 watts rms. Did I measure this? No. Just a thought. Interestingly enough I have the gain set to a similar position as I did on the 250/1 but the 500/1 runs hotter. I know that if you're reading this & you have an electrical engineering background the answer is simple but I don't have one besides the fact that more energy is being used to produce the extra 250 watts rms thus creating more heat. By the way this amp has all of the features of the 250/1 plus a connection for an optional bass control switch. Sound quality is the same as the 250/1 plus of course you get extra power. Clean, powerful bass is what you get. Read my review on the 250/1 for more on sound quality.
