| demoqueen's Full Review: JVC FS-P7 Shelf System |
I was looking to replace my old component system that I got 12 years ago. I didn't want to spend a lot, thinking these things are like computers, outdated before they hit the market. When I heard the sound from this little system I was amazed! It sounds a thousand times better than my 'million watt' old system.
This thing looks great. Its the nice new silver color with chrome and blue accents and the speakers are a nice light wood with soft grey speaker covers. It looks great in my living room. Its not big, bulky and obtrusive, It fits just perfectly on the book shelf.
Now the sound it truly amazing. It puts out just around a 100 watts total, but sound like 300. The AHB PRO LEVEL feature for the bass lets you chose between five level of bass, (although I rarely go past level 2, it really cranks, makes my whole house shake!).
The JVC FS-P7 has a single CD player and a single cassette as well. Both sound great. There is also 20 FM and 15 AM station presets that are very easy to set with the great little remote control that is included. The CD player plays CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs and has a 20 track CD program/random/repeat play feature. The cassette player has auto reverse and plays all types of cassettes, types I, II, and IV without changing settings.
The other features of the FS-P7 include S.E.A electronic equalizations, which means it has four modes for listening, rock, pop, classic, jazz or flat- which cancels the sound mode. There is a clock/timer(daily/rec/sleep), a dimmer for the display, and AUX input/output. The FS-P7 also features CD synchro recording and CD complete recording. The speakers are 3-way, 3 speaker bass reflex design with 13.5cm cone subwoofers, 8cm cone woofers, and 2cm dome tweeters for really awesome sound.
There is also a coaxial terminal in the back of the unit for connecting to FM/AM. I though this was great considering my old system didn't have it and I had to buy an adapter.
