Pros: Video quality, zoom, video modes
Cons: Low light recording, lack of inputs and a few others
The Bottom Line: Don't buy this unless you want to learn how to use the video features or if you've looked at other brands such as Sony.

| joethesoundguy's Full Review: JVC Cybercam GR-DVL120 Battery |
I was in the market for a basic Mini DV camera and came across this JVC at a local store for 300 bucks. It has the highest resolution among the other cameras in its class so I figured I would try it out. It's a pretty decent camera overall. It has a nice LCD display and some nice features if you learn how to use them. If you get the settings right, you can actually get a nice picture. I was impressed with some of the quality I got out of it. Lacking on the camera is a microphone input which is something nice to have... The microphone pickup is pretty good and has records fairly decent, but lacks any major windscreen and even with the wind-cut feature on, you still get some awful sounding wind. If you have to shot in windy weather, tape a windscreen on. Other than that, if you learn to play with some of the video features, you can get some neat effects on here. Video quality is great, but night shot and back light do not work well at all.
