Pros: Excellent sound quality, included remote, sleep to CD, multiple wake options, portability
Cons: CD motor buzz at low volumes, bright clock, hard to read LCD, not small
The Bottom Line: Great sounding CD player that's equally at home filling the room with sound, or greeting you at the start of your day. Barring a couple quirks, just about perfect.

Think of it as a great sounding CD player that can wake you up. With it's better than adequate sound quality and ability to play back both CD-R's and CD-RW's, the absence on any nature sound effects is easily overcome by burning your own on a CD, then either sleeping or waking to them.
This product has usable features associated with both the playing of music and the utility of an alarm. A digital tuner provides for multiple station presets and a bass enhancing feature is present. The alarm can put you to sleep listening to a CD or radio, and can wake you with either, or a buzzer. Two different alarms are great for couples getting up at different times. The remote is real handy for operation from across the room .
The down side to an otherwise perfect product is an audible buzz or motor noise when playing CD's at low volumes. The jury is out as to whether this is a defect or not. The other subjective annoyance is the excessive brightness of the clock, which can be turned off while not listening to music. Lastly, radio reception is very good, but the antenna is a wire rather than a telescopic one found on most portables. While this shouldn't be a problem because of my radio's primary use, it would have added to the units mostly portable details to have included this convenience.
