Pros: Excellent sound comfortable for people with large ears, dedicated paring, excellent battery life
Cons: Large by today's standards
The Bottom Line: Excellent sound quality, ease of use, excellent battery life, and the fact that it can be used under at hat or bicycle helmet more than compensates for it's size.
bubsywubsy's Full Review: Jabra BT500 Bluetooth Headset
I have this Jabra BT500 and a Motorola H700 headset and I greatly prefer the Jabra. I have large ears and the Jabra's around the ear design works perfectly for me. The sound quality is excellent both in listening and in speaking. The unit has a dedicated paring key that makes connections with a cell phone easy and reliable.
This unit has a selection of "ear buds" that fit in the ear. Then the unit fits "around the ear" in the form of a Large "C" . The result, for people like me with large ears, is a unit that is comfortable to wear.
The unit has buttons for increasing and decreasing the volume but it doesn't have any indication when maximum volume has been reached.
Pressing and holding the activate button for a couple of seconds redials the last number dialed.
Unlike my Motorola, I am able to use this unit under a hat and even while wearing my bicycle helmet which is a big advantage for me and others who are cyclists.
I have also found that the talk time and standby time between charges on this unit is considerably longer than with my Motorola. However, the unit does not use a standard USB charger, so you have to carry around the dedicated charger with you to recharge it.
