| Sarv's Full Review: Jacuzzi Quantum Spa |
Some would say this is the perfect spa. Well, maybe not
nothing is perfect. But, for the price, what it offers puts it damn near close.
Do you like sitting in a sofa or in a recliner?
That will determine whether or not you will like a lounger in your spa, or simply have bucket seats to sit in. With the Quantum from Jacuzzi Premium Spas, you get both.
As I have been doing while giving my Epinion of Jacuzzi Spas, I will rate them on three different criteria: Ease of Use, Durability and Hydrotherapy.
Ease of Use
Put a set of steps in front of your spa, or set it by the edge of your deck. The worst part of getting out of your spa is just that, getting out. Usually its much colder outside the spa than in, and its just so nice and warm in there. Dont make it any more difficult than it has to be. If youre getting out, get out quick and get inside where its warm. With the Quantum only being 3 feet tall (and even less deep), it shouldnt be a problem for you to do this.
New Quantum have a gravity drain that makes sure all of the water is out of your spa when draining. This is convenient when cleaning the spa, which you should do 2-3 times a year. Everyones water is different, so you should make sure to address this accordingly. Lots of metal needs a metal remover chemical, otherwise it will cause deposits in your Jacuzzi. Other situations require other chemicals. See your local chemical supplier for better information.
Quantum have a 24-hour circulation pump which runs all day and all night. Stand by it
youll never even know its running. This provides you with clean water at all times, yet doesnt bother you with constantly running jets. Adding an ozonator to your spa increases the amount of ozone in the water, which kills bacteria and virii before they reach the spa water. Invest in one if you can.
Durability
Jacuzzi spas, and the Quantum, are made out of a durable acrylic shell that is built to last. The warranty even guarantees it, with 10 years on the Shell Structure (what holds the shell together), 7 years on the Shell Surface (protecting you from cracks, bubbling, or anything else that may happen), 5 years on the electrics and plumbing, as well as 5 years on labor and components. Try and find a warranty like that from other spas.
Inside the spa you will find wood, plumbing and foam. Foam insulates the spa, as well as keeping everything in place. Dont forget that everything in a Jacuzzi is made by Jacuzzi, so they dont have to rely on others to create parts to the exact standards already set. Only a few other spa manufacturers do this.
The siding comes in many colors (as does the shell), and is made out of either durawood (vinyl siding) or realwood (red, silver or natural, to match your home). I prefer durawood, because it cuts down on maintenance (just spray it off when it's dirty), and it will last (covered under 10 year warranty).
Hydrotherapy
The Quantum has 24 jets; this is quite the jump from the 15 in the J-320. In the lounger you will find four neck and shoulder jets, as well as the two high-power jets that delve deep into your upper and lower back muscles. Something new as we look at this spa is the calve and thigh jets that come up from the lounger into your legs, relieving the tension of the past days endeavours.
If you get into a spa, and there are bubbles everywhere and you're feeling ichy and just mainly uncomfortable; it's because you're getting too much air in the jets. That is why having 50% air, and 50% water coming out of the jets is best way to go. Simply sit in a Quantum (or any Jacuzzi Premium), thats really the only way to see if a spa or that spa is for you.
The seat next to the lounger is a bucket seat, but it has 10, count em, 10 pulsating rotary jets for every part of your back. Imagine these jets as someone kneeding into your back with their knuckles, easing away the pain. The seat next to it has two high-power jets in a bucket-like seat arrangement. The other location in the spa have two jets for your upper and lower back, plus you get the enjoyment of rubbing the loungers feet. You will also find a spot for cooling down, or an extra seat without jets for another friend or loved one.

Note the Pumps and Electrics. When you see a spa advertised with high horsepower, check to see if it is break or continuous. Continuous HP is the most important, as it is what you'll see when the jets are on. You don't need a lot of HP; too much will throw you out of the spa.
The electrical is important as well. Unlike the J-310, you can hook your spa up to a 220 outlet only. 110v is only available in the J-310, and the J-320 in 2004. See your electrician to have your spa hooked up.
Cost
Jacuzzi's are premium spas, and of high quality. Don't expect to find these spas at the cheap prices of many spas seen on Epinions and in your area. Your dealer will remind you of this as well when you are shopping. Keep in mind that with the Quantum, even with the circulation pump running 24/7, filters coming on 4 times a day (giving you probably 50 full filtrations of the water in the spa per day), will cost you on average of $12 - $14 per month in added electricity. You will only need to drain and refill the spa 2-3 times per year if you take care of it (keeping it clean). An ozonator will bring down the cost of chemical usage. Cleaning your filters will do the same.
See your local Jacuzzi Premium spa dealer for latest prices, as sales are usual in the spa business.
