Pros:Child hood memories!
The Bottom Line: Pac Man is back!
I saw the JAKKS Pacific Namco 5 In 1 Pac Man Plug N' Play TV game at Walmart this past year. I had to get it. Not for my daughter so much as for myself. I remember Atari! I loved these games as a kid. Of course the games they have today have better sound, better color and video and even better objectives. But I can't resist the old fashioned Atari like games. Who can if they ever had one them selves?

I got it on sale in the Walmart near me. I ended up paying $12.99 for it. That was a really good price for five games to play. I have no complaint about the price. I have seen it in a few other stores like K-Mart and Target selling for nearly double what I had paid. So I can't complain at all.
The JAKKS Pacific Namco 5 In 1 Pac Man Plug N' Play TV game really looks like an old fashioned arcade game with joy stick in the front. It is yellow on the sides featuring Pac Man. It is black in the middle and on top with Plug N Play written on the front. It has a black joy stick with a red ball top like the old arcade games do. It also has red button off to the side like the old games do! It is like being a kid again. I am telling you!
To use the game:
Just plug in the two RCA cables that are attached to the game. One is yellow one is white they are for sound and video you can't mistake the two where they go. They match the colors of the ones on you TV set. Then after you plug them in just turn on the game. Oh and you need to have double A batteries in it. You need to have a phillips head screw driver to put them in. That is at the bottom of the game. Now turn on the on switch and play your game!
What games you get and a short description:
You get Dig Doug, Pac-Man, , Galaxian, Rally-X, and Bosconian. These are all old arcade games. They were most popular when people were still playing them on Atari game systems. The main game is Pac Man. This has always been a favorite of mine and now my daughter plays it too. Pac man is easy to play. Pretty much all you have to do is control the little Pac Man and have him eat up all the pellets. But there are little blob type things that stand in your way. They chase you, then move around fast and some times they can corner you to where you can't avoid them. To get immunity to them for just a few seconds you have to eat one of the blue pellets that are larger then the white ones. They are always in a corner so they are a bit hard to get to some times.
As you beat the levels the little creature try to get you even faster, the game becomes harder and the mazes more difficult to move around. There will be more twists and turns. The blue pellets will be harder to get. There may be a small square in the middle that you have to get like four pellets out of. If one of those blob things comes in at the same time your as good as gone. There are also little warp holes. You go in one side and come back out the other side. This brings you closer to the pellets you need to get. There can not even be one pellet left on the board or you will not advance to the next level.
Along the way you also end up getting bonus points. You get them by eating the bananas or cherries and things like that. They only pop up now and then between the pellets and they go away fast too. And every now and again a little Pac Man guy will come as well. You get him and it gives you an extra life. You are started with three lives in total. Once you are caught three times the game starts over. This is why the extra life is fun to get. The Pac Man and Dig Dug games are pretty much all I play. They are the most fun of the five for me.
Graphics and sound:
You can't go in to getting this game thinking that it will be as perfect as todays games are. The colors are bold and the sound is clear as can be. It may be nothing like todays games but it is still fun to play. I enjoy it and my six year old daughter has no complaints.
The package says that it is for ages six years old to ninety nine years old! I have to laugh. I can't really picture my great grand mother playing Pac Man! But then again you never know! There is little to no violence. It is a fun game to play. No small parts come off of the game.
My thoughts and recommendation:
I love the JAKKS Pacific Namco 5 In 1 Pac Man Plug N' Play TV game. It has brought back a little piece of my childhood. I also like that I am able to share this fun with my daughter. You can play single player or two player and take turns. But I like to watch her play. We both can get in to it for hours. It is a nice family game to enjoy. I really do like it a lot. Pac Man is the best game. I really don't know why they don't update it with todays games so other kids can enjoy it as much as I did when I was young. But this is as close as you can get. It is better then fighting games and games like Grand Theft Auto. Who really wants the kids to play on those types of games?
Over all I have had endless hours of fun playing with my game. I am glad that I had the opportunity to show my daughter what games were like back when I was a kid. It is not too often that you can bring your past in to the future with you. I do recommend the JAKKS Pacific Namco 5 In 1 Pac Man Plug N' Play TV game.
