I am a slinky addict. I have hundreds of slinkies of all types and flavors. For a more general discussion about slinkies, see my comprehensive review on slinkies at http://www.epinions.com/kifm-review-BB3-9C5F04C-39627E04-prod4 at 1,600 words, I think its one of the most loquacious and obsessive slinky reviews on the site.
The Super Slinky is not exactly the most creative slinky. Take your standard metal slinky and double its length. Voila! It is now SUPER.
In fact, a Super Slinky isnt your most user-friendly slinky. Its an advanced slinky best suited for skilled hands. Twice the size means increased risk of tangling and real difficulty juggling. Just when you think youve got it going from one hand to the other, invariably the middle will slip out and you get a big mess-o-slinky.
Dont feel too bad. Even experts have a tough time wrangling this beast. At its size, the laws of physics are working against you. Its unwieldiness makes it significantly less playable than the classic metal slinky.
But thats not the point. The Super Slinky is all about size, and yes, size matters. In an era where consumers buy Ford Excursions and Hummers, the Super Slinky is the American consumerist dream. Its all about having more than we need. A four car garage
a two carat diamond ring
.a bonus-sized slinky. Go ahead and put this bad boy on your office desk and your co-workers will know that youve made it.
(Although, if you want maximum office stature, invest the extra $10 to get the bronze slinky, or better yet, go all-out and plunk down a C-note for the gold slinky).
As for me, the Super Slinky is buried away in my collection. Its too much slinky to enjoy on a regular basis. However, on my office desk is a massive slinky (more than 2.5x a standard slinky) my wife got me for Valentines Day from a science catalog. Its much too challenging to enjoyably play with, but I just tell admirers that my wife thought that was
um
an appropriate slinky for me
.and leave the rest to their imagination
