Pros: Fragrance-free, 75 pads, mostly natural, effective, oil-free, no stinging or burning
Cons: Contain parabens, take a few passes for stubborn waterproof mascara removal
I picked up a tub of Jason Natural Quick Clean Makeup Remover Pads recently to rid my eyes of waterproof mascara and other tough to remove makeup. I like these pads because they're not greasy and don't make my vision blurry. They take a few passes to get off layers of waterproof mascara but swipe away most makeup easily. They're mostly natural which is a plus although they contain parabens as a preservative which have come under fire for possibly being unsafe. This has not been proven, however.
These pads come 75 to a tub. The tub is plastic with a colorful label and white screw on/off top. The pads are soaking in the liquid but aren't drowning in it. Each pad is round and woven and doesn't leave behind fuzzy fibers which some pads do. There is no scent that I can discern which is a huge plus when using anything on or near the eye area.
When it starts to get warmer out, I tend to switch to waterproof mascara and eyeliner to avoid running or smudging. They are usually tough to remove with my usual facial cleanser so I buy makeup remover pads. Jason Natural Quick Clean Makeup Remover Pads are not exclusively for the eye area. You can use them all over the face if you want. They contain ingredients that soothe and hydrate the skin without stripping it of essential oils. These pads are not at all greasy which is such a plus. I have pads that are filled with oils and I get blurry vision as well as a residue on my face after using them leading me to have to wash my face with cleanser.
These pads leave my face feeling clean and even a bit tingly. They remove most makeup with just a swipe or two but I do have to work a little harder to remove layers of waterproof mascara.
One pad will usually be enough to remove all my eye makeup and even facial makeup when turned to the clean side. I use two pads, one for each eye area or I will use three pads to take off all my make up from top to bottom.
I have never had a breakout and these don't sting. They do the job quite well and have less chemicals than most others. While they do contain parabens to reserve the liquid, they're still less chemical-laden than many mainstream brands. There has never really been any proof that parebens will lead to any sort of illness but many people shun them anyway. I try but I am not one who will totally avoid a product is it has a chemical or ingredient that is iffy. Unless it is proven in medical studies to be dangerous, I use iffy ingredients with caution and not to excess.
Jason Natural Quick Clean Makeup Remover Pads do the job without greasiness and leave my skin feeling fresh. The liquid is generous so the pads don't dry out and the pads are sturdy and don't tear or rip when I use them. I like these pads and will probably buy more when my tub is gone. While they don't take off layers of waterproof mascara in one swipe, they do get it off without me having to tug too much or rub my eye area to excess.
These are the current ingredients in the liquid that these pads are saturated in. They are subject to change at any time so please consult the packaging before purchasing if you have allergies or are sensitive to certain ingredients.
Purified soft water, eye bright extract, comfrey, aloe vera gel, cocaminopropylbetain, tocopherol (vitamin e), l-ascorbic acid (vitamin c), steareth-20, panthenol (vitamin b), allantoin, chamomile extract, comfrey extract, cucumber extract, methylparaben, propylparaben.
You can purchase Jason Natural Quick Clean Makeup Remover Pads at drugstores and mass-market stores on and offline. A tub of 75 pads costs between $5.50 and $8.00 depending on where you purchase them. Definitely compare prices!
I like these pads and I especially like that the company has pledged to the Humane Society of the U.S. that there will be no animal testing in any phase of production. That they are fragrance free is also a huge plus and that they are oil free really makes a difference. They're a bit pricier than some other makeup pads but they get the job done with no irritation and very little rubbing even when I am wearings several layers of waterproof mascara. 4 stars.
