| MiamiPrncess's Full Review: Jenga |
Jenga was a game I bought out of desperation for my son. My child who is 8 had asked for Uno Stacko (actually he asked his aunt and she mentioned it as we strolled through Target) but it was not to be found. I picked up the Jenga box and figured it's got to be close enough. Later on in the week, I found Uno Stacko at a Wal-mart and bought it too. So rather than give my son both games I wrapped up Jenga and gave it to my fiance. I never knew adults could have so much fun with a tower of blocks.
What is Jenga, and how is it played? Jenga is nothing more than wooden blocks. Yup, that's all, just a bunch of wooden blocks, 54 to be exact. These blocks are placed three in a row, with three more laying in opposite direction above them, to form a tower 18 stories tall. The game comes complete with a loading tray to assemble this tower. Once you've assembled the tower, the fun begins. Each player removes one block from the tower and places it on top to start yet another story. The game is over when someone makes the tower tumble. Simple, huh?
Could Jenga really be entertaining to everyone? Well I was asking myself this very question as my fiance, brother, and myself set up this little game. I have to say, I was shocked but it was complete fun. The box recommends ages 8 to adult. My 8 year old enjoys the game, but it's a bit frustrating to him at first. He's learning great hand/eye coordination. And even better, no one has to keep score. I would have to say a definite yes, it's great for anyone ages 8 to adult.
Jenga is very inexpensive for the joy it brings. I would definitely recommend buying this product no matter what age. It's just simple fun and no complications. No one can argue the score. The three adults who played with me for the first time felt challenged to make the tower very tall, so it kept us going for hours. I don't think I could ever become bored and place this game on the shelf to collect dust. Alright, who's gonna stack the tower next? Let's get that Jenga going!
