This range has been a $2300.00 piece of junk since we purchased it 3 years ago. Here are the facts, YOU decide!
1.All literature and photos show the stainless steel range to also have stainless steel burners and knobs. NOT TRUE! After you get it and the "slide in" is installed in your new tiled countertop you find out that what you purchased does not exist. It does not come with stainless steel knobs and burners like the photos and literature show. 2. Within the first 6 months we had a repairman come out twice. why? The oven does not heat up correctly. It may say 350 degrees and you may normally cook something at 350 degrees, but, it doesn't happen. It may only be 325 degrees. The repairman says that it is normal and acceptable. "It can deviate from the digital degrees by plus or minus 25-30 degrees and that is acceptable. Unbelievable. We have to try to figure out how long to cook something and at what temperature because their range can be off the actual temperature and that's acceptable??? Well not to me!! Also we have the down draft due to the inability to put in a hood because we have a log home etc. The point here is this. If you try to boil water at the same time you are using the grill or griddle you can ....Forget it!!!..You can NOT boil water within a reasonable amount of time because the " down draft" pulls the flame away from under the burner under the water. So you have to do one or the other!! can you imagine!??....and because the downdraft "PULLS" the adjacent burner flames to it, guess what happens? The stainless steel between the burners winds up burned and discolored and there is no way of bringing back the original shine and finish. And, if you are not careful and you are using the griddle, the tiny little cup that comes with this model will easily overflow with grease and run out on to your floor. We had to run the hose to the basement. Finally we gave up on the griddle which by the way was an additional expense on top of the cost of the stove. The final thing is that they do not tell you that if you purchase a stainless steel back splash to prevent grease splatters from getting on your new kitchen walls that you MUST attach it prior to sliding the range in place. Nowhere in the instructions for "installing the stove" can you find it mentioned. Actually we were told we could attach it after we finished tiling the wall between the cabinets and counter top. WRONG! Now if I want to have my back splash put on which also was an additional @ $200.00 I have to pay someone ( actually 2 or 3 people due to weight ) to remove the stove, attach the backsplash and put it back in...and hope they don't crack the tile countertop. What a deal!!!! Jenn air...No WAY!! It should be called JUNK AIR!!!.... and overpriced to beat!!
