The Jensen Universal 5 remote control (product # JR500) is probably the most convenient universal remote control I have ever owned. With the press of a button, you can operate the TV, DVD, VCR, Satellite/cable and CD/Audio receiver - all from the same remote.
Unlike other universal remotes, I found this one very easy to figure out. The keys are grouped in sections, starting with the most frequently used keys (volume, channel, play etc.) at the top. The navigation keys, which include the on-screen menu control, are in the middle. Next are the numeric keys. These are followed by the mode keys (for component selection). This sensible design helps cut down on the frustration and time wasted on trying to find the right key.
Some of the features include:
-Volume lock- which allows the user to control the volume in VCR, satellite or cable mode.
-Channel Scan button- perfect for those "channel surfers".
-Code search- used to search through the entire library of codes.
-Device Reassignment- allows user to reassign a device key to another device (i.e. VCR to TV2).
This remote can be found at locations such as Meijer, Circuit City, and Ace Hardware (to name a few).
