| zenstar812's Full Review: Jergens Skin Firming Cream |
I am here to dispel the myth that thin people do not have cellulite. It is a lie! I am 5"7 and weigh 125 and I have cellulite in one of the most popular places for cellulite to dwell...you guessed it! The back end! I am so tired of my friends saying, "But you're so thin! There is no way you have cellulite." Many a time I have been tempted to moon people who say that. Just because I am thin does not mean cellulite can find no room in its long life to dwell on my body. It is one of the flaws I have along with spider veins from the 12 hour days of the military dining facility, knock knees from my father, and bad eyesight from who only knows where. There is a certain dread that comes from summer and the idea of swimsuits that ride up the back end and shorts that force the baring of legs. I hate capri pants and those cute swim boyshorts that promise to hide the back end, do not hide enough. Fortunately, I am to the age where I have less care about the shallowness of these things, but my flaws sit in the back of my mind.
In the age of all things fake such as breasts, calves, and stomachs I found myself perusing alternative and less expensive modes of improving myself. I exercise, try to eat well (stress the word try), and take care of myself to the best of my ability. I do not have six hours a day in which to work out and maybe work off the cellulite, so therefore I am stuck with alternative ideas. I have not payed much heed to all the new products that have made promises to firm your skin...but it was on a whim on the shiny shelves of Target that I found it. Jergens Skin Firming Cream. It was then my flaws, my vain self came rushing to the forefront of my mind...BING! "Buy this," my vain and shallow self said, "maybe this will work on that one big flaw you have (no pun intended)." Vanity won another battle with me and well the price at $3 wasn't too bad. Hey what the heck, right?
So, I took my lovely little jar of Jergens Skin Firming Cream and my hopes and dreams into the bathroom that night. After my shower, I opened up the jar and to my surprise, this cream had a really wonderful fresh scent. It smelled like something out of a spa and with this in mind, I began to apply liberally to my "target" areas as stated on the label. I have continued this nightly ritual ever since then.
The main question would be...does it really firm your skin? My answer would yes. The skin on my target areas has become firmer. And yes, the cellulite is still there. The thing that has impressed me about Jergens Skin Firming Cream is that it leaves my skin incredibly smooth and clean smelling with no overbearing scent. The cream leaves behind no sense of greasiness but at the same time, your skin feel moisturized all day long...no need to reapply until after your next shower.
It is actually a great product, but it is no miracle cure for cellulite (but hey, a girl can dream right?) This cream will make your skin softer, more luminous, and noticeably firmer within the four weeks promised on the label. The 6 ounces contained within will definitely last you the four weeks and you really only need a modest amount depending on how many "target areas" you plan on firming and moisturizing. The cream contains (along with a vast assortment of ingredients) Vitamin E and seaweed. If you haven't guessed it already I would highly recommend this product. Unfortunately, the cellulite will just have to be a flaw that many of us must contend with until we can fit daily six hour workouts into our schedules...LOL!!!
Thank you for reading and have a great day!
