I have owned Fossil watches since I was in high school. They were as perfect for me then as they are now, even though my needs have evolved. In high school I wanted high fashion, but at a low cost. Fossil's two-tone watches were perfect for me, at around $65. Now I want something "timeless" and simple, that can go from the office to the bar. My fossil watch goes with my suit AND my heels. What more could you ask for?
Some people say that Fossil is expensive. I guess that is all relative. I think that if you can have a watch that is so versatile that you can go from day to evening, and work to play, and suits to sweats, that $65 is not a lot to pay. Besides, you can find them cheaper on EBay or at outlet stores. (I'm an EBay junkie, read my review.)
When I had a two-tone watch I did notice that, since I wore it 24/7, the gold tones did have a tendency to wear off. It would start slowly, just a little scratched up. By about 6-9 months after I got the watch the gold tones were noticeably worn. Still visible, but noticeably worn. I "solved" that problem buy buying an all-silver watch. Now it just gets scratched a little, but the scratches can be buffed easily. It seems as though the face glass scratched a lot more in high school than it does now, but that could also be because I'm more careful....
This watch is easy to clean, just wipe it off with a damp towel. My favorite part about this watch is that you can take the links out yourself to adjust the fit. I have a small wrist and I've always had to take every watch to the jewelry store and have them adjust it for me, and most of the time they wouldn't do it for free. Now Fossil puts extra clasps in most of their watches so you can adjust the watch at your discretion. Very easy. I love that new feature!!
Overall, this is a great watch. SUPER versatile, going from the office to the bar to the couch. I wear it all the time and it keeps working like the day I got it. If you shop around you can find a great value. I highly recommend it!!
