Jimmy Eat World....A band on it's way up!

Pros: Good lyrics, mostly fast songs, cheaper than most other CD's.
Cons: Only has 11 tracks.
The Bottom Line: This band has a good sound and is up tempo. The CD has some bonus features and was only $10. I would recommend giving it a chance.

I was recently over at a friends house who had the Jimmy Eat World CD. At first when I saw the name of the band I thought that it would be one of those bands that nobody really likes. Then she told me that she won it off a radio contest. So, by the time I heard it I didn't exactly have the best possible first impression.
After listening to a few songs I realized that they weren't as bad as I had presumed. So the other day I was in the CD store and they had the Jimmy Eat World CD on one of the CD players for you to listen to. So I thought well I'll listen to some of the other tracks.
Price - I liked it that most of the songs were very up beat. And was even more surprised that the CD was only $10.00. Most of the CD's were $17 or so marked down to $14. So that gave me even more incentive to buy it.
Type of Music - The band has a sort of rock and pop mix which is sometimes called "EMO". It's the same type of music as Blink 182 or Matchbox Twenty. I'm not a very big fan of the rock/pop mix. Their unique sound sets them apart from the others. All the album are similar. Which I think is good because it's not a 2 hit CD. The whole album is good.
About the band - There are four band members:
Jim Adkins - vocals, guitar
Tom Linton - guitar, vocals
Rick Burch - bass
Zach Lind - drums
The band has been around for almost six years and has put 6 CD's out. Bleed American being the most recent and is the one I am writing about.
Bonus Features - I was surprised when I opened up the CD and saw that there was a note in it that said that if you inserted the CD into your computer you could access certain things. I know lots of CD's do this now but this one was a little different in that it took you to the "Secret Jimmy Eat World website." So I went on it and found that there was a bonus song, a video of them singing their hit song, and some other cool info and stuff.

Overall - I was surprised by the band. If you think you might be interested in a band like this I suggest you go listen to it at a CD store. You might like it. Enjoy
