Having placed an order for Joey NY Instant Blackhead Dissolver and Pore Minimizer Gel with QVC I waited for it to arrive. Within 3 days of placing my order that wonderful chocolate brown truck pulled up in front of my house to deliver my package.
I ordered this for two reasons, the first being that I could surely use a little pore shrinkage since my pores are not as tight as they used to be and secondly for my teenage son, who has a bit of a problem with his skin and this could be the answer. Dissolving blackheads with just the simple circular massaging motion of your finger pads instead of trying to get a boy to wear one of those blackhead remover strips definitely seemed so much easier!
Directions: After cleansing skin, apply gel over areas with large pores and blackheads avoiding eye area. Wait for the gel to dry, approximately one minute. With gentle circular massage movements, roll away impurities and blackheads. Then rinse with lukewarm water. For best results, use at night 2-3 times per week.
Time to test this gel out:
I decided to give this stuff a test run. I had already had a shower so my skin was clean and dry. Unscrewing the top of the tube I gently squeezed some of the gel onto my finger and patted it across my cheek and nose area, then gently smoothed it out. I was not sure how thick this gel should be on the skin so I just put a minimal amount on the skin. The gel itself has a fresh light scent to it. It is easy to apply to the face, glides on like a light icing to a cake.
It begins working immediately, you can tell by the tingly feeling that starts to happen instantly. However, this tingly feeling starts to grow! It is replaced with a more intense tingle and warmth. I was trying to patiently wait for this to dry so I could remove it. It was definitely taking more then one minute. I started to fan my face with my hand, BIG mistake, the tingle intensified in to a burning sensation! I stopped fanning and just waited for the gel to dry, which took approximately four (4) minutes.
Slowly, using my middle fingers on either side of my nose, I started to massage the skin in a circular motion, unsure if this would make it sting more but found it stopped the stinging. Little by little the gel rubbed off until my face was clear of it and just a nice tinge of pink underneath my fingers. I rinsed with lukewarm water but switched to cooler water and gently patted the area dry.
The results:
Looking in the mirror, I found my cheeks and nose were now a reddish tone and a little tender. My pores were smaller in diameter and the skin appeared smoother. I believe the redness and tenderness were due to feeling like my skin was burning just a few minutes prior. But none the less there was improvement to the diameter of the pores.
That night I again went in to the bathroom to check my skin for redness and to see if the reduction in pore size remained and to my surprise it had. The redness and tenderness had subsided quite a bit.
This morning after showering and dressing I have to tell you that my pores have SHRUNK!!! For the first time since I can remember my pores have actually diminished to a point where my skin looks smoother and younger. What a difference!
Final decision:
This 1.25 ounce tube, is definitely worth the cost $31.00 including shipping & tax. Even with the uncomfortable heat of the gel it is well worth it to have results like this in just one application.
As for this being a blackhead dissolver, I did have my son try this with the warning that it gets rather warm and tingly on the skin. He gave it a whirl last night, and yes I did hear a teenager whoop and squawk about how warm it gets! He had me look at his skin to see if it did anything and it did remove some of the tiny blackheads. I think with another application it will work on some of the bigger ones as well.
This is one AWESOME gel!
