Pros: zaps static. thats it
Cons: greasy, makes hair 'fluffy', has adverse effects
The Bottom Line: Recommendation? Sorry no. Perhaps if you have straight, very thick, dull hair. This product might actually work for you.

| redheadbetty's Full Review: John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum |
The Problem:
Let me tell you why this product not only failed in doing its job, but also had the opposite effect on my hair. A few years ago my mother received a sample of this product and thought she'd try it on my coarse, unruly hair. I have dry, coarse, curly hair. It can be soft if I apply hair conditioner in it before styling. But I recently coloured my hair, so it became even dryer. Back to my story. Because of what this product advertised, she decided to use it on my hair. It worked like a miracle serum. It make the frizz go away and made my hair very soft. At that time we didnt buy it because it was very expensive.
Fast forward a few years till now. Because my hair was so dry because I recently coloured it, I decided to buy the product to banish static and frizz and give it a healthy shine. To my disappointment, this is not the same product I sampled a few years ago. Sure this product controls static, but frizz..thats another story. You know the before and after pictures on the packaging? Well after I use this product, I look like the chick in the BEFORE picture. My hair, in a word, is 'fluffy'.
How it's supposed to work:
The product requires that you apply it when your hair is soaking wet. You don't rinse it out nor do you towel dry. I usually apply my hair products after this and allow it to air dry while getting ready to leave the house. When you initially apply the product to the hair, it looks wonderful-until you decide to go outside. I air-dry my hair because anything else makes it too "big". When your hair dries while your still inside, you get this 'boost' in the hair and the hair seems to have a nice look to it. It has curl and it has bounce and it has shine. But after you've had this product in your hair for a few hours, you'll notice it can actually have adverse effects on your hair. Needless to say, it does not work. This product zapped all curl from my hair. I have been using this product every other day for over 2 weeks and have yet to see a difference. I thought at first that I was using too much of the product until today I decided to use less than what I normally use. Today was the first warm day in those 2 weeks and you'd think this product would help control the effects of warm weather(not hot or humid, just warm). It did not and as I stated earlier, had adverse effects. Of course it looks the same as it did for 2 weeks-only worse.
Any pros? going once, going twice...
Perhaps the only good thing about this product is if you ever want to straighten your hair, it just might work and help it in the process. Unfortunately I have not tested it out for this purpose and I doubt I will. I might just be wasting an hour only to be disappointed in the end.
Final word? This product is going in my beauty rot box-for good.
