Pros: Works somewhat. Noticeable effect. Not greasy at all.
Cons: Not exactly that great either.
The Bottom Line: Get it if you're desperate to tame your frizz. It'll work, but don't expect too much.

| daydrmgirl's Full Review: John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum |
This review is for the John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE Hair serum - lite formula for fine, frizz-prone hair.
My hair
I've always had mid-length/long hair which I usually pull back into a pony tail or bun. I have pretty healthy hair. Medium fine, black/dark brown, with no split ends. This summer I decided to make some changes and trimmed it down to ear length. I also decided to move to New York City.
Well, it wasn't a great combo, I have to say. The dirtiness of the air in NYC forced me to wash my hair everyday. I love washing my short hair! It's so easy! However, I've also been plagued with frizzy hair. Even after conditioner, once my hair's dried, every strand is just frizzing up everywhere!! It was a catastrophe. I can't stand to look at my hair in the mirror, and running my hand through my dry hair feels like running it through barbed wire! I had to do something. I was putting leave-in conditioner on, but it only tames it that little bit. So I started shopping around for some strong stuff.
John Frieda Frizz-ease hair serum to the rescue!
So it became my routine to walk through the haircare aisles in the pharmacies. One day, I found that the Frizz-ease hair serum was on sale at CVS for 3.99! I decided to give it a try and picked out the lite formula. I don't like frizzy hair, but what I hate even more is oily hair, so I went with the lite formula.
Or not...?
I tried it on the next morning after washing my hair. I applied it according to the direction on the back of the bottle:
Directions: Use after shampooing and conditioning on towel-dried hair. Dispense a dime-size amount of serum into palms and smooth through damp hair, distributing evenly. Use more or less depending on the length and texture of hair. DO NOT RINSE OUT.
The serum was not greasy at all, I was pleased to find. I had to use 2-3 pumps of the serum. I went off to work right after applying it, letting my hair air-dry. I checked my hair before noon after it's dried, and I was pleased to find less frizz in the hair. There were still some defiant individuals, but definitely less, but still it was a long way from what they advertised. "Smooth and de-frizz" it says on the front of the bottle. The "de-frizz" part it did some bit, but my hair's no where near smooth.
Does it work?
Yes, but don't expect a miracle. It'll de-frizz your hair by a noticeable bit, but that's all. The bottle is tiny also (0.8 Fl.Oz/24mL) and normally it costs almost $7. Perhaps if you do as "recommended," and get the entire 4 step system (shampoo, conditioner, serum, and gel/mousse) plus their hairdresser, then you'll get the advertised effect. For an at home frugal DIY, don't expect too much from this little fella.
My solution to frizzy hair?
I'm just pretending it's not frizzy right now (it is), and faithfully using the leave-in conditioner plus the serum. Any suggestions anybody? It's my first time fighting frizzy hair and I feel like I'm losing the battle.
