I have straight or wavy hair depending on how the comb falls I guess. I have normal hair however it is extremely frizzy and a humid climate doesn’t help the situation at all. I’ve been using Frizz Ease products for years and have been very happy with the performance.

It wasn’t until recently that I stopped sharing shampoo with my husband and got a shampoo that fits my hair type. I picked up a bottle of the Frizz-Ease Smooth Start Defrizzing and Nourishing Shampoo which is step one for extremely frizzy hair.

I purchased the bottle for just under $5 for 12.7 fluid ounces. I didn’t expect the product to last long since it’s a smaller bottle than I’m use to but it lasted a full 6 weeks. I started using the product the day I got my hair cut to ensure that it had a fair chance.

I really like the lid on the bottle. The bottle is slender and stands easily upright or upside down. The lid opens and closes by pushing the lid like a button which means that it will never break off if it falls off of the shelf.

The directions indicate to apply to wet hair and rinse with warm water. The product recommends step 2 conditioner and step 3 hair serum for optimal performance. After a few weeks I noticed my hair was well out of control and needed more than attention. I found it very difficult to get the serum and hair styling products out resulting in sometimes needing to use the shampoo twice.

The claim from the bottle states that the shampoo is: “Ulra-powerful, frizz-fighting shampoo calms wild, wiry, coarse hair as it smoothes, heals and moisturizes. Leaves troublesome hair super-silky and full of shine.”

I guess I thought this little bottle would do miracles. I used only the shampoo and matching Frizz-Ease conditioner exclusively for weeks. For the first couple of weeks I didn’t even need my styling gel that I previously relied on for taming.

I thought my hair looked shinier than usual. I don’t color, blow dry, curl, or use hair sprays. It gets brushed once. I do everything I can to avoid frizzy situations. I was pleased with the strands….until I walked outside the door. Apparently it takes more than this shampoo to tame frizz in humidity.

I found the shampoo left my hair with less volume than other shampoos. For me, that means less frizz too. I am normally due for a haircut by 6 weeks and I was more desperate to get a hair since I’ve been using this shampoo. I wouldn’t say that it dried my hair, but it didn’t do anything to keep it healthy. My hairdresser said that my ends were dry and split….what kind of shampoo are you using. Same response as when I use a .99 bottle of shampoo.

Overall
My bottle lasted a full 6 weeks. I thought it did a good job of cleaning and smelled nice. I paid more for the bottle than I do for other shampoos and didn’t feel that it did enough to help my frizzy hair. I had great results in the beginning but then the results started diminishing. If this were priced lower it may be a keeper for me but the results aren't great enough for me to spend more for this shampoo in the future.
