Pros: Fits majority of people
Cons: Unconvincing color, huge pupil hole, get dry easily
The Bottom Line: Comfortable for the majority of contact lens wearers. It’s unfortunate that the color is so poor. You might be able to scare people away with these.

| babyeddy7's Full Review: Johnson & Johnson Acuvue 2 Colours Opaques Singles... |
Its been two years since I opened my first box of colored contact lenses, and its been anything but a glorious experience. For a whole year, I used Color Blends by Freshlook, superior to Acuvue 2 in coloration but not comfort. Turns out the lens diameter was too big, and I suffered from myriads of symptoms, including headaches, sleepiness, and inability to stop blinking.
I am indebted to Acuvue for ending this, but my gratitude is only semi-gratitude.
Comfort
Contact lenses are like clothes- they come in different sizes for different sizes of people. This being the case, I would advise you to go to your eye doctor and find out the most fitting lens diameter and base curve. Determining how well the lens wraps around your iris, these measurements are vital for comfort. The lens diameter of 14.0 and base curve of 8.3 of these Acuvue 2 Colours suits a large majority of contact wearers. People with larger irises will prefer Freshlook Color Blends.
Dont be fooled by the trial pair! If you arent too myopic (-2.00 or less) you should find the same comfort in your true pair as in the trial. But, for people like me with a prescription of around -6.00, dont expect this. At higher levels of myopia, lenses are considerably thicker and heavier than normal. Whenever I blink, my eyelid makes contact with the lens, which rubs against my eye. This causes slight discomfort.
These lenses dry very easily. Wind, sitting under an air conditioner, or even walking becomes hell, so always bring eye drops with you. I don't expect anyone to constantly lubricate his or her eyes, and this makes these contacts unbearable.
Color
The same accolades people have given these contacts for comfort cannot be granted here. While the lens color itself is fine, the way in which it is printed is not. Remember those old printers with big blocky dots? These are a not so nostalgic reminder. From about two feet, these lenses look unconvincing.
In making these Acuvues comfortable, a sacrifice had to be made; there is a huge colorless hole for your pupil- a big hint that your contacts arent real. And if you have dark brown eyes, its even more obvious.
Put succinctly: unless youre talking to someone five feet away, dont think about telling him or her that your eyes are real.
Durability
$35 per box isnt economical, so changing your lenses biweekly as suggested might not be a good idea. Acuvue 2 Colours are so durable they might as well not be disposable. They will withstand a month of the wear-and-store cycle. I have done this for a year with no problems.
If I still havent dissuaded you
Color choice is always a difficult decision to make. If you are interested in getting a gray pair, take note that theyre actually closer to blue. And if you want blue, dont expect a lambent sapphire. Acuvue 2 Colours are more like subtle tints than radical transformations, except for honey.
Darker skin tones will look better with honey and green, according to Acuvues test.
Schedule an appointment with your eye doctor so you can see these yourself.
The end
If Freshlook Color Blends have a more felicitous fit, youre lucky. For the rest of us, well have to wait for Acuvue 3 Colours for a good color contact.
