| bmcnichol's Full Review: Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder |
Johnson’s Baby Powder has been around for a long time, longer then I’ve been on this earth. My mom used it on me when I was a baby. I still use it today, on my children and myself.
Johnson’s offers different varieties of powder. They have the Original powder, Pure Cornstarch, Pure Cornstarch with Aloe Vera & vitamin E, Lavender & Chamomile, and Medicated.
Johnson Original Baby Powder contains talc and fragrance. It helps keep baby’s skin soft and smooth. Baby Powder aids in eliminating chaffing and gives you a clean fresh feeling. Johnson’s Baby Powder is hypoallergenic, dermatologist and allergy tested.
Johnson’s recommends shaking the powder into your hand and then putting it on the skin. This helps alleviate the dust particles in the air.
Johnson’s Baby Powder also comes in a Pure Cornstarch formula. This gives baby double protection against skin irritations. In my opinion, this is my powder of choice. I think there is more “healing” powers in the cornstarch variety. Johnson’s Pure Cornstarch Baby Powder contains Topical Starch, Tricalcium Phosphate, Aloe Barbadensis, Tocopheryl Acetate, and Fragrance.
Johnson’s Baby Powder comes in a Pure Cornstarch with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E formula. This variety contains Topical Starch, Tricalcium Phosphate, Aloe Barbadensis, Tocopheryl Acetate, and Fragrance. These are the same ingredients that are in the Pure Cornstarch variety so not sure what the real difference is.
Another variety of Johnson’s Baby Powder is Lavender & Chamomile. This powder is pure cornstarch, with a lavender and chamomile fragrance. Johnson’s Baby Powder with Lavender and Chamomile contains Zea May Starch, Tricalcium Phosphate, Lavender & Chamomile Fragrance.
One last variety of Johnson’s Baby Powder is Medicated. I use this when my son has a bad diaper rash. This powder offers a medicated skin protectant that is clinically proven to treat diaper rash fast. Johnson’s Medicated Baby Powder contains topical starch, zinc oxide and fragrance.
I have seen Johnson’s Baby Powder in three sizes: nine-ounce, fifteen-ounce and twenty-two ounce. I buy the twenty-two ounce for home use and keep a nine-ounce bottle in my diaper bag.
When using powder on baby, clean area and allow to dry. I like to apply powder with each diaper change. Keep the powder away from your child’s face. Shake the powder into the diaper or apply to your hand and rub it in. I use baby powder sparingly during the day but nighttime, I pour it on.
Actually Johnson's Baby Powder is for more than just babies and butts. I use it in the summer when my son gets prickly heat. I use it to help baby and myself keep cool during the hot summer months. I use it in my dress shoes to help alleviate odor. And I also like to use it after a shower just because it makes me feel even more clean and fresh.
I like Johnson's Baby Powder and use it often. Please be forewarned that pediatricians do not recommend baby powder for baby’s because of the particles getting into their lungs. This could lead later in life to breathing problems and/or cancer. This of course pertains to all powders and not just Johnson’s.
If you choose to use baby powder, I would highly recommend any of the varieties of Johnson’s Baby Powder. An Oldie but a Goodie!
