| bonniesayers's Full Review: Johnson & Johnson Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers |
I have been using Johnson & Johnson Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers for at least ten years now. They are packaged in a flip top white cardboard box similar in style and size to a matchbook. There are twenty-five picks inside each packet with four packets in one container selling for two to three dollars maximum. With the four packets I am able to keep one in the bathroom, one in the makeup case and have two for replacing.
The Johnson & Johnson Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers are used on my seven-year old as well. There are times food is stuck or we are on our way out and I see a speck of food that needs to be removed. I would say this is used most often to remove food and not as a plaque remover. There are other items better suited for that specific problem.
The best use I know for the Johnson & Johnson Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers is after eating popcorn and finding pieces stuck between teeth on the top or bottom. The pointed end is able to fit into small areas that a toothbrush might not reach and they are just tossed in the trash and easy to use when traveling or after a fast food meal in the car.
Also in a pinch they work for cleaning fingernails! Johnson & Johnson Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers claims to fight gum disease and is recognized by the American Dental Association. The sticks are all stuck together inside the packet so you will need to pull one apart or break it away from the group. This is very easy to do with the rest staying intact.
The sticks are about two inches in length and a bit thicker than a toothpick. It is easy to spot the sharp point that needs to be inserted into your mouth to moisten before removing the food particles. This is very easy to slide up and down the teeth and then toss. Most likely you will need more than one after a meal. I have on occasion through out the years rinsed the contents in the sink and used again.
These are not sticks you are going to want to keep in your mouth, as you would do with toothpicks. The mint taste is refreshing and helps with the bad breath aspect after eating certain meals. My younger son has been hospitalized a few times and one time we were not prepared with a suitcase, so having the Johnson & Johnson Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers in my purse helped me clean up my kids teeth before the nurses got too close to him.
The packet of Johnson & Johnson Stim-U-Dent Plaque Removers can easily fit inside a pants pocket for day trips. They are not very strong and have a tendency to break if you are holding it tight. There are some that might break when you are removing from the packet.
For the price and convenience of having clean teeth and a minty fresh smell to your mouth this is worth the couple of dollars. It worked well when I was a smoker and needed to cover my breath before a meeting. It should not be forced in between tight spaces in your mouth. This is a safe product to use on kids, very soft in the mouth, and good for elderly folks who might not be able to take care of their teeth. Yes it even works on cleaning up dentures. This beats carrying a toothbrush and toothpaste around or flossing in public.
